THORNLIE Bowling Club and the Crossroads Country Music Club will host the third annual Rebecca Forsyth Cancer Awareness Night on Friday October 2.
Kicking off at 7.30pm, guests will be treated to an evening of music from talented local bands Hideaway, Bad Hearts and Cruising Deuces, and all proceeds from the event go to Silver Chain.
“The evening is held in honour of my wife Rebecca who lost her battle with cancer three years ago,” Jason Forsyth said.
“Because Silver Chain’s Palliative Care team were so amazing in helping manage Bec’s pain and discomfort, I would like to donate the money from this year’s fundraiser to Silver Chain.
“Rebecca was a singer and entertainer, and many of her wonderful colleges are getting behind this event to make it a fantastic fun-filled night.”
“Locals are invited to come along and enjoy the evening and tickets are only $5 at the door.”
Established in 1982, Silver Chain’s metropolitan Hospice Care Service is one of Australia’s largest community based palliative care services. The service adopts a holistic approach to home care for people with a life limiting illness, plus support for family and carers.
There is symptom management help through pain control, psychological support and counselling services.
