Comments:

POLICE have charged a Belmont man with a string of driving offences following a pursuit in Burswood last night.

It will be alleged the 23-year-old was driving a Holden Commodore on Great Eastern Highway when he failed to stop for officers and drove off.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle but resumed the chase when the offender was allegedly seen driving through the Burswood Entertainment Complex.

The pursuit ended when the offender approached the Graham Farmer Freeway and collided with another car, allegedly pushing it off the road and into a wall.

The Commodore then careered out of control and crashed into a parked car. The driver was taken to Royal Perth Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The offender will be summonsed to face Perth Magistrates Court on two counts of failing to stop for police, reckless driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and driving without a licence.
