LAUNCHED just four weeks ago, Gourmet on Wray has proven its popularity with regular breakfast-goers coming back for more, and eager diners filling the seats every evening.
Primarily known for its large menu of mouth-watering burgers, owners Marie and Dalia have ensured only the freshest of seasonal vegetables are used.
While Marie comes from a hairdressing background, she has continuously worked in hospitality over the years, while Dalia is a qualified broker who also owned her own bar and restaurant in Sydney.
Together, this dynamic duo has come up with a café concept that has many Freo locals spreading the word.
The Magic Mushrooms burger stood out on the menu on a recent visit, combining a 200-gram beef patty stuffed with sautéed mushrooms and brie, then finished with spinach and lime aioli, while the chunky chicken burger was a light creation of chicken, bacon, avocado, tomato, cos lettuce, Swiss cheese and lime aioli.
All beef burgers are made with 100 per cent Bunbury beef, and the café only uses organic chicken tenderloins.
Vegetarian diners don’t miss out either, with the seasonal vege patty burger, or the vege stack.
Why not start the day with a hearty breakfast at Gourmet on Wray, where the menu
features the Big Brekkie, the rye stack, eggs benedict and Florentine, and many more of the old favourites with a little gourmet twist.
Top it off with a fresh coffee or smoothie.
Breakfast prices range from $9 to $15, while burgers for lunch and dinner range from a very reasonable $10 to $15.
All burgers are available for takeaway, and Marie and Dalia will be looking into catering options soon.
If there is one place to check out in the near future, do yourself a favour – stop by Gourmet on Wray and join its growing number of fans.
